Biography

Christopher Sanford, MD, MPH, DTM&H, is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Family Medicine, and Global Health. He is the Director of the Travel Clinic at the UW Northgate Neighborhood Clinic, and is the Director of the UW Dept. of Family Medicine Global Health Fellowship. He is faculty at the UW Family Medicine Residency at the UW Northgate Neighborhood Clinic, at which also practices family and travel medicine.
He is the lead editor for Travel and Tropical Medicine Manual, 5th Edition (Elsevier, 2016). He is an administrator and faculty for the Professional Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (East African Partnership), a three-month course in tropical medicine held in Uganda and Tanzania each year. His interests include travel and tropical medicine, medical education in both high- and low-resource settings, and disaster medicine.
